MegaFon subscribers in the Moscow region, who tried to get an electronic pass via SMS, instead connected a paid "reference and information" service. Vedomosti writes about it.
The cost of each message to 0250 was 30 rubles, they were debited from the subscriber's account.
Messages about the notification of a paid service in response to a request on April 13 appeared on Facebook.
A representative of MegaFon told Vedomosti that the number 0250 on the morning of April 13 was indeed tied to another service. The company did not receive a request from the government of the Moscow region to issue electronic passes through this number.
Today, the operator promptly turned off the paid service, and promised to compensate all the expenses for SMS that the residents of the Moscow region incurred.
