Roskomnadzor transferred the preparation of the protocol to the editor-in-chief of Mediazona Sergei Smirnov due to the coronavirus, according to the department’s notice, which was received by the editor.
“The Roskomnadzor Office for the Central Federal District reports that in order to counter the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the territory of the Russian Federation, drawing up a protocol on an administrative offense under Part 2 of Art. 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation in relation to the editor-in-chief of the online publication Mediazona is postponed,” the notice says.
The regulator sent a notification the day before, on April 14. The claims were caused by news that did not indicate that Artpodgotovka is an extremist organization banned in Russia. Smirnov’s interests will be represented by Agora lawyer Leonid Solovyov.
