The authorities of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region, sent a “police squad” to protect a family in which a seven-year-old child became infected with coronavirus. This was reported on the website of the administration of the Ust-Kut region.
A woman with two children returned from a vacation in Thailand. The family spent 14 days in quarantine, after which the mother went to work. The next day, doctors announced that her seven-year-old child had tested positive for coronavirus. “At the same time, the child has no signs of illness; COVID-19 is asymptomatic,” officials assured.
Local residents learned that the first infected resident of the city was in this family. Their address and other personal data were published in the city Viber group. Insults and threats began to be published on social networks.
The family refused hospitalization, the child is being treated at home, the report says.
