The head of the Ministry of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko commented on a rebellion in the Angarsk correctional colony No. 15. In his opinion, the rebellion “directed from the outside” people who attracted the “so-called human rights activists” and are trying to “swing the situation through the mass media”.
“There are clear facts - 4 years of the FSIN Office in the Irkutsk region did not have a boss. It was appointed recently. Attempts by the new leadership to restore order, stop illegal actions, fix violations, for example, creating comfortable conditions for a separate contingent, encountered sabotage and blackmail from the convicts, ”added Chuychenko.
According to him, threats received the head of the colony and his family, "an attempt to attack."
On April 10, IK-15 prisoners in Angarsk Irkutsk Region staged a rebellion after the beating of one of the convicts. Some prisoners, as human rights activists said, opened their veins. A few hours later, a fire occurred in the colony, which was extinguished only the next day.
As Baza wrote , during a riot on the gate of the colony they found the body of the prisoner who was committed []. The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Irkutsk Region Viktor Ignatenko said that another prisoner was found dead during the analysis of the rubble after the fire. Nine convicts, said human rights activist Svyatoslav Khromenkov, transferred to a prison hospital.
