The first patient with coronavirus died in Novosibirsk

The first patient with a coronavirus infection died in a Novosibirsk hospital. He was 68 years old and had been on a ventilator for six days.

Pneumonia in the deceased patient developed against the background of severe concomitant pathology (diabetes mellitus, obesity, coronary heart disease), they said at the operational headquarters.

“I fell ill on April 1, I was treated on my own. On April 7, he was hospitalized in a critical condition, where he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia. The man was immediately placed in the intensive care unit, on April 8, taking into account the deterioration of his condition, he was transferred to a ventilator,» the report said.

In total, 46 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the Novosibirsk region.
