Facebook added a “caring like”

Facebook added a “care reaction” to reactions to user posts: a hugging heart emoji. The Verge writes about this.

The company hopes that this response will help people feel better connected to each other during the epidemic.

The new reaction will be available on the desktop version of the social network and in the mobile application starting next week.

Another “caring reaction” will be added to the messenger - an animated beating heart.

• In 2016, Facebook added five emojis to the usual like: heart, laughter, tears, indignation or surprise. Previously, users complained that likes on some posts were inappropriate - for example, a like looks strange if someone reports sad news.
