
The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg released Alexander Litreev from the house arrest of the IT specialist. He is accused of acquiring and storing drugs without a sales purpose (part 1 of article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), Interfax-Ural reports .
Lawyer Alexei Bushmakov said that the investigator asked to extend the term of Litreev’s arrest until May 22.
“The judge freed Alexander Litreev from house arrest. Sasha is a free person. Another preventive measure was not elected, ”he wrote on Facebook.
Litreev was detained near the hotel in Yekaterinburg on February 23, 2020. Together with a friend, he bought drugs, after which they were stopped by the police. They found two MDMA tablets (ecstasy) in the wear of Litreev.
On February 24, he was placed in a pre -trial detention center. The inquiry officer claimed that the accused could hide, since in Yekaterinburg he does not have a permanent place of residence. In March, the programmer was sent under house arrest. He spent it in a rented apartment, which was provided by one of the inhabitants. The programmer pleaded guilty.
Alexander Litreev is known for several projects aimed at helping participants in protest promotions in Russia.
