Russia: regional deputies demanded to introduce emergency mode

More than a hundred deputies of the regional parliaments of Russia demanded that President Vladimir Putin and the chairman of the government Mikhail Mishustin introduce an emergency regime in the country due to the pandemic of coronavirus. The text of the appeal on his Facebook page was published by the deputy of the Pskov Legislative Assembly Leo Schlosberg.

According to the authors of the appeal, the country's authorities must take responsibility and introduce an emergency regime that implies the payment of benefits to citizens.

“Declaring the so -called“ self -isolation ”and not allocating the necessary funds to support citizens, the federal authorities actually transferred the entire severity of the situation to ordinary citizens, and the responsibility to governors who do not have sufficient authority and access to the national welfare fund,” the appeal says.

According to the deputies, in case of refusal of the emergency regime, the president and the Russian government must immediately resign.

President Vladimir Putin extended the self -isolation regime until the end of April. The regional authorities must independently make decisions about which regime should be introduced in the region, as well as draw up a list of enterprises that should be closed for this period.
