Lenin was an integral part of the Soviet reality and, which is quite natural, a significant part of the mythology of the country and the family for many representatives of the already post -Soviet generation. To the next anniversary of Lenin, “Such things” and the Postpost.media project asked readers to tell personal stories about how this figure was connected with their private life. Thank you very much to everyone who shared their stories with us
When I was four years old, we were with my mother at sea in Novorossiysk and quite accidentally met a distant relative in the city. Adults, as they say, “caught on their tongues” and stood for a long time on the sidewalk. I, a minor, needed movement and attention. When I twitched my mother completely, she said: "Now Lenin will be taken by helicopter over the city." And all. I was flooded for almost an hour, peering into the sky and fantasizing how it will look: maybe they will take him on the tops (that he was a mummy, I was already in the know)? Mom and relative were calmly agreed, I was upset that, "apparently, today a strong wind, they decided not to take it." Well, the neck stuck a little.
I had four years in the Mausoleum year coincided with an acquaintance with a fairy tale about a sleeping beauty. And I stood the whole queue and thought that Lenin should definitely lie in the crystal coffin, and if he has been contrived and kissed, he would surely come to life. And I, if this happens, will definitely go down in history. But, when we finally got inside, Lenin went through to kiss. Even for the sake of world fame.
My first husband (born in 1975) told how one day he was very ashamed. At school, class in the second or first, the teacher told the children that Lenin learned to read at five. And the poor child sat and thought in horror: “And I learned to read at four years old. What happens, I'm better than Lenin?! "
My brother once brought Lenin's ear from school-at school, in the assembly hall, they defeated the bust. The ear was so large and painted well on the asphalt instead of chalk.
The story of Lenin happened in a lesson in Soviet elementary school, when the teacher for a long time tortured a sad and sweaty from horror Genka. In response to all the questions, Genka only shifted from his foot from his leg, looked at the ceiling and sometimes mumbled something unintelligiblely.

Nosov/RIA NovostiFinally, she asked the main thing: "Kuznetsov where Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was born?" Genka looked at the ceiling, hesitated, timidly looked at the teacher and, gathering the spirit, muttered: "Lenin was born in the mausoleum."
I had a small bust. In the third grade, they presented for a birthday (at school). In my youth, I used the head of the bunch for the rod of socks. She kept in a box with sewing accessories.
The story is not mine. Everything is standard for me: up to eight to nine years, she believed that Lenin was infallible and good in general. This is the story of my friend, who was broken in a kindergarten on the site with a spatula. The frightened educators took her into the corps, the blood is whipping, Masha cries. And then one of the educators decided to calm the child and said: “You see, grandfather Lenin looks at you. Let you touch him, and everything will pass! Do not cry! " A heavy portrait was removed from the wall and, therefore, brought the child to the face like an icon. The taken aback girlfriend really stopped crying. And by the way, the shoulder blade did not damage the eye. All are intact.
In 1991, when I came to my grandmother in a small town town for the holidays, my dacha girlfriend of ten years told me: “You know, everyone now says that all this was not true and there is no socialism, but God is now. And since God is, then I think that there is no Lenin! And never was! "
In one primary grade textbook it was told which Lenin was kind. In the second - that he did not know how to use the weapon, and Browning (which Volkov took from him) carried with him just like that. In the third there was a story how Lenin hunted a fox. Being a naive child, I compared these three stories and specified something with the teacher. So the childhood ended.
I will never forget. She studied in the first grade, the first quarter. The teacher suddenly says at the end of the lesson: “And now we will write the most important word in life -“ Lenin ”.”
I have no personal story about Lenin, but I remembered the story that in the 90s I read either in the “results” or somewhere else, the thematic was release by the date.
So, a first -class student returns from school all pale, frightened and in tears. What's happened? What happened, son?! It turned out that in the morning the children were gathered for a lesson in the world or something like that and talked about Lenin.

By the way, this whole thematic section was called "Your Mausoleum." This is from the poem, one of the thousands that ordinary people sent the leader in the press:
“Sleep, my Lenin, Sleep, Beautiful, Bayushki-Bu. A clear month shines clear in the mausoleum of your ... "
At seven years old, when for the first time I was a little explained to me on the playground, what sex was, I thought: “Lenin did not have children, which means he did not, and I will not. Never!" I also remember that we sit with my mother a little earlier in the kitchen, she cooks something, I draw something, and suddenly ask: “Mom, who do you love more: your mother or Lenin?” She looked at her very strictly and was generally in shock when she replied: "Of course, her mother." I don’t remember how she explained to me.
In the eighty year, I first visited Moscow. In those years, a visit to the Mausoleum was part of the mandatory program of the visit, you understand. And so my mother and I set the turn, go in, and I in absolute silence with a sonorous children's voice ask: “Why is it so big for him?”
I came from the kindergarten, planted a little doll, recite: "Stone on a stone, Kir-r-r-ropich on the brick, our Lenin Vladimir Ilyich died." Mom, grabbing her head: "Why are you shouting like that?" -"I do not scream, I am a pr-r-line."
After my mother gave birth to me, the doctors asked who the father was. Either the birth actually affected, or in the procedures they worked on anesthesia, but my mother said: “Vladimir. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin ” - and further the biography of Ilyich. So to whom grandfather Lenin, and my father.
My childhood passed in the city where Lenin was born. All museums that I had to visit at that time were Lenin museums, with the exception of local history. The Lenin Museum-Quarter, where he was born, the Lenin Museum, where he lived, Lenin Memorial, Lenin Street, Lenin Square, a monument to Lenin on Lenin Square ....
All campaigns with the class are visiting Lenin museums. The curly Volodenka Ulyanov is still facing my eyes, but my grandmother lives in my heart, who had to live life in this city.
When we walked around the city and passed by the gymnasium in which Lenin studied, I told her:
- And here, granny, Lenin studied.
The grandmother stopped, looked around and suddenly said menacingly:
- But you never know who studied here, Kerensky, Waldemar, brother of Apollinaria, Grisha with Mikhail ... Yes, and Polina and I graduated from the gymnasium.
From surprise and amazement, I asked:
- Granny, did you study in the same class with Lenin?
- Well, no, of course not, he is older than me. And then, he graduated from the male, Kerensky, and Polina and I were female, Kashkadamova. But one might say, one, ”concluded the grandmother.
When we passed the monument to Lenin in the central square, the grandmother usually said: “And here stood the cathedral, a copy of Isaac, in St. Petersburg.” Then we turned to the side of the square and, passing by the palace of trade unions, a gray reinforced concrete building, the grandmother continued: “And there was a convent, beautiful. Mother came to us, mom loved to drink tea with them. ” Going down Karl Marx Street down to the tram stop, we stopped at the old two -story mansion: “And this is our house, we lived here before the revolution, but there is opposite - confectionery and store, also ours.” Grandma talked about her older brothers. About how they made a caramel Kremlin to the 300th anniversary of the Romanov house, how they drove him to the capital to the exhibition-fair and received a gold medal for it. Grisha left for Japan after the revolution, and Mikhail Donzel somewhere in Siberia, becoming the director of the bakery.

Lenin in Ulyanovsk photo: Maxim Bogwod / RIA NovostiBut the most remarkable is a visit to Aunt Polina, Apollinaria, an old grandmother's friend with whom they studied at the gymnasium. Usually we walked to her along Lenin Street, past the Lenin House, where the Ulyanov family lived in recent years. Having passed the house and turning into the neighboring lane, we fell into the old two -story wooden house, where Aunt Polina lived.
Having risen to the second floor, we went into a large room forced by ancient furniture. Usually we drank tea from beautiful porcelain cups. Aunt Polina treated us to a delicious biscuit, which she herself baked. I climbed my feet on the sofa, and they talked. I loved their conversations, as well as the books that Aunt Polina had and which she allowed to see and even gave something to read. But this time I asked about Lenin:
- And Lenin is alive?
- Why are you asking? Aunt Polina asked.
- Well, everywhere it is written: “Lenin is alive! Lenin is always alive! Lenin will live! "
“They fool around the children,” the grandmother said sadly.
- God is all alive! - Aunt Polina unexpectedly declared. - Everyone is alive, but not everyone is joyful.
After that, they spoke among themselves, not paying attention to me. I did not understand much from their conversation, I remembered some fragmentary phrases such as “betraying the earth”, “to bite their dead”, “Hell, crying and gncing the teeth”, “The judgment of God”, and at the end of the conversation, Lenin generally turned into the “son of the doctor” of Pokrovsky, and from Ilyich became Ivanovich.
