Convicted under the article of repeated violation of the rules of participation in rallies (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code), Konstantin Kotov was transported to an unknown direction. Lawyer Maria Eismont, who represents his interests, told OVD-Info about this.

At the moment, it is unknown where he is now and where he is being transported. He was in custody in the Moscow pre-trial detention center-7 “Kapotnya”.

On April 20, the Moscow City Court commuted Kotov’s sentence to one and a half years in prison.
After a Dozhd correspondent asked the president to pay attention to this criminal case at the December press conference, Putin instructed the Prosecutor General’s Office to conduct an investigation. She considered the sentence to be legal, but somewhat harsh, and decided that Kotov needed to commute his sentence to 1 year in prison, sending a corresponding submission to the cassation. The Constitutional Court in January decided to review Kotov’s sentence, citing its ruling against Ildar Dadin, the first person convicted under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code.
