In Togliatti, security forces came to search the former head of the trade union

In Tolyatti, the security forces came with a search to the former head of the Molot trade union, Vyacheslav Shepelev. The reason for the search is unknown. This was reported to OVD-Info by lawyer Galina Fadeeva.

According to her, an unknown man in civilian clothes, accompanied by OMON officers, searched Shepelev's apartment, after which the man was taken away in an unknown direction.

The security forces confiscated the phone from Shepelev's son. There is no contact with the detainee at the moment.

April 28 14:25 Shepelev, in a conversation with OVD-Info, said that investigative actions were carried out as part of criminal cases under three articles of the Criminal Code: on public calls for extremist activity (Article 280 of the Criminal Code), on inciting hatred or enmity (Part 1 Article 282 of the Criminal Code), as well as insulting a representative of the authorities (Article 319 of the Criminal Code).

The reason for initiating cases, according to Shepelev, was a repost on Shepelev's page in Odnoklassniki of a video called "To the policemen of the Russian Federation and traitors to the homeland of the USSR", which was shot by blogger Alexander Chernykh.

In the video, according to Shepelev, Chernykh talks about the possible return of Russia to the jurisdiction of the USSR, and also criticizes the actions of the security forces, stating that they will be held accountable as traitors to the Motherland. At the same time, Shepelev claims that he reposted the video without any comments.

According to Shepelev, the order to conduct the search was read to him only after they entered the apartment. The security forces seized memory cards, a laptop, a video camera and some documents.

In addition, during the search, law enforcement officers took the phones from Shepelev's daughter and son. At the same time, his daughter is an assistant to the deputy of the Duma of the city district of Tolyatti Georgy Akoev, and his son is a deputy of the Duma.

After the search, Shepelev was first taken to the local center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for combating extremism (CPE), where he was held for about an hour. After that, he was taken by car for interrogation to the regional department of the Investigative Committee in Samara.

After the interrogation, the investigator chose Shepeleva a measure of restraint - a written undertaking not to leave the place. He was brought home at about 8 pm.

• In November 2019, they already came to Shepelev with a search, but then the man was not found at home, and the security forces left without confiscating anything. On the same day, the police visited four more activists, including Fadeyeva. Then a possible reason for the search was the recognition of the organization "USSR", whose members advocate the restoration of the jurisdiction of the Soviet Union, extremist.
• In the summer of 2018, Shepelev was searched as part of the case of inciting ethnic hatred (part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) because of a post on a social network where he used the word “Jew”. During the first search, they seized his equipment, business cards of the Molot trade union, as well as stickers with the inscription “05.11.17 We are not waiting, but we are getting ready.”
