In Pskov, blogger Aleksey Malov was interrogated by the police in connection with publications about the coronavirus in the telegram channel K8442. This was reported by the publication "North. Realities".
The summons was sent to Malov in Telegram - the blogger is a witness in an administrative case. The police asked him if he administers the telegram channel K8442. Malov exercised the right not to testify against himself (Article 51 of the Constitution). He was not allowed to see the case file.
Telegram channel K8442 publishes information about the situation with coronavirus in the region and, in particular, criticism of Governor Mikhail Vedernikov for insufficient preparation and work in a pandemic.
Malov said that the administrative case appeared due to the fact that he, together with the editor-in-chief of the Pskov Gubernia newspaper Denis Kamalyagin, launched a new socio-political program on a regional television channel, the content of which "very irritates the authorities of the region." “I assume that the administrative case appeared because of a statement that one of the high-ranking employees of the regional administration could write to the police,” Malov specified.
