DJI introduced the Mavic Air 2 drone (video)

At the beginning of 2018, the Chinese company DJI introduced the Mavic Air folding drone, which gained popularity by combining attractive characteristics and a relatively affordable price. After almost two and a half years, the company produced the Mavic Air 2 quadrocopter.

According to The Verge , Mavic Air 2 has become a little more and heavier than the previous model, but external differences are not striking. At the same time, in its characteristics, Mavic Air 2 is noticeably different from Mavic Air. So, the new drone is able to spend up to 34 minutes in the air.

The Mavic Air 2 camera received an increased 48-MP sensor. By default, the drone shoots a 12-megapixel photo, but can also take pictures in full resolution. The drone camera can also shoot 4K video with a frequency of 60 frames per second and supports shooting a video in HDR mode. Software of the camera is able to recognize different conditions of shooting and adapt to them. Developers also improved the algorithms of automatic flight modes and a system for avoiding obstacles.

Finally, Mavic Air 2 was the first drone with support for AIRSENSE technology to warn about the presence of other aircraft nearby. At the first stage, the system will only work in North America, and later the company will start delivering Air 2 drones with support for Airsense to other regions.

DJI Mavic Air 2 is already available for pre -order. In the United States, the drone will appear on sale on May 11 at a price of $ 799 for the basic version. The equipment that includes a bag, filters for the camera, protection of propeller, charging hub and three batteries will cost $ 988.
