A court in Kazan fined a picketer in absentia for violating the self-isolation regime

On April 28, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan fined a local resident Andrei Boyarshinov for taking part in a solo picket against the destruction of a pre-revolutionary building. This is reported by "Idel. Realities". Boyarshinov and his defender Rushan Kabirov were not present at the meeting.

Judging by the case file on the court's website, a protocol was drawn up against Boyarshinov on non-compliance with the rules of conduct during the introduction of the high alert mode (part 1 of Article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The amount of the fine was not reported.

The defense lawyer petitioned for the transfer of the case materials to Boyarshinov's place of residence. In a comment for "Idel. Realii” Kabirov stated: “The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation clarified that cases cannot be transferred to the place of residence only if the victim objects, or if most of the evidence is located within the same district. That is, one cannot simply refuse to transfer the case to the place of residence. And I am more than sure that Judge Idrisova did not even deal with this petition of ours. There was also a conveyor there yesterday (April 28 - OVD-Info ). In the Vakhitovsky court yesterday, about forty people were convicted of self-isolation.”

The defender stressed that he intends to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Tatarstan.

• Boyarshinov was detained on April 27 for holding a picket against the destruction of a pre-revolutionary building. At the picket, Boyarshinov advocated the resignation of the head of the Committee for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ivan Gushchin, who authorized the demolition of the building of the former school No. 37 in Kazan on Nazarbayev Street.
