In Kaliningrad, a multi-family single mother, who was sent on vacation at her own expense during the pandemic of the coronavirus, was starving to feed her children. The head of the Center for Social Mutual Assistance "Same" Boleslav Yakovlev told about this to the correspondent of the Sever. Reali.
A large mother-single mother turned to the center, who worked as a conductor in a private company, but in April she was sent on vacation at her own expense. The woman rented an apartment with three children, there was nothing to pay for rent.
- She said: "I do not want to see. How my children die from hunger." She was in a real panic, just in hysteria. We supported this family with products. Then the woman called, she did not eat for three days, because otherwise there would be nothing to feed three children. She worked as a barn and she was also reduced. And she said that she seriously thinks about giving children to the shelter for a while, ”says Yakovleva.
According to her, the state often cannot help those in need. Therefore, volunteers formed additional grocery rations for such families.
- If the state could help, there would not be volunteers. Even now, representatives of the authorities call us and ask: "Can you help mothers?" No one allocates funds for all this social support. I think the state is not ready for the pandemic. The ambulance doctors recently contacted us, asked them to sew masks for work. And I asked the girls who sews, we helped them, ”said Yakovleva.
Wed VKontakte Wed in classmates Wed on TwitterYakovleva said that since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of appeals from families that turned out to be without money and work due to the pandemia of coronavirus: “We tried in advance prepared for this situation: when Putin said that the country was closing, we ordered two tons of potatoes at once, and 62 families that we have on constant support received food sets. But the first week of the house was shown that the situation would not pass so simply. There are a lot of calls, they do not know where to go.
During the pandemic, people are brought to despair, says a social activist from Baltiysk Sergey Dustin. In his opinion, the state can only provide assistance to those who have a certain status - a poor or large family. Dustin also notes that the authorities refuse to work with private companies and "suppress non -profit activities."
