While we are preparing new lectures, you can listen to the old ones! On weekends, we prepare collections for different topics. Today you can listen to quantum physics.
Eugene Polzik - about what is possible and what is impossible in the quantum world. Quoting the lecturer - "If it seems to you that you understand the quantum mechanics, you do not understand anything." But no one bothers to try!
Pavel Pakhlov - about symmetry in physics. A special place among them is occupied by discrete symmetries: they postulate the invariability of the laws of nature when replacing the “right” with “left”, “forward” with “back”, “plus” to “minus”. The last of them more than 80 years ago gave rise to the assumption of the existence of antimatter and anti -worlds. But then it turned out that discrete symmetries are not so accurate - although antiparticles really exist.
Mikhail Shifman - about high energies physics. What did this area have now reached and what awaits it in the future?
Alexander Gorsky - about quarks and quantum energy. What key problems are there in fundamental physics? How do ideas within the framework of strings theory adapt to quantum field theory?
Vladik Avetisov - about molecular machines. How do Nao-Machines work if there is no need to talk about the real “engine” in their case? What are the restrictions on their mechanics? And why do they need them at all?
