
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) completed the investigation in the case of manipulation with doping tests of 298 Russian athletes, the organization’s website reported .
Experts revealed manipulations with samples of 145 people. The agency noted that the results of the investigation were transferred to 28 sports organizations. They will have to decide for themselves whether one or another case is considered a violation of anti -doping rules.
In July 2019, WADA experts announced violations of 43 Russian athletes in 150 doping tests. In total, 298 athletes from Russia came under suspicion.
In September 2019, WADA initiated the consideration of the issue of the non -compliance of the Russian Anti -Doping Agency (RUSADA) with the organization of the organization.
On December 9, 2019, WADA deprived the Russad of the status of compliance with the Code, and sanctions were imposed in relation to Russian sports. Russia was removed from participation in international competitions for four years, including the Olympics and the World Cup, due to violation of anti-doping rules. On May 1, the head of the Russian anti-doping agency (Rusada) Yuri Ganus said that WADA would return the Moscow laboratory accreditation and the right to work with doping tests no earlier than eight years later.
