It is reported that Telegram will not be able to promise them that they will receive the already paid cryptocurrency Gram even in 2021.

On April 29, Telegram offered investors either to return 72% of the money right now, or wait a year to get its share of the Ton blockchain in the GRAM cryptocurrency or in money in 2021 in the amount of 110%.

In a letter to investors not from the United States, Pavel Durov, due to regulatory risks, will not be able to fulfill this previously promise to give them cryptocurrency even in a year, but is ready to conclude a new agreement with them if investors prove that they are not residents and are not based in the United States. The authenticity of the letter was confirmed by two Ton investors.

“Unfortunately, based on recent discussions with the relevant authorities and our lawyer, we made a difficult decision not to use the option related to GRAM or other cryptocurrency due to the indefinite attitude of the relevant regulatory authorities,” the letter says.

But the company is still considering the possibility of concluding an alternative transaction with investors. Only investors who are not US citizens and are beyond their borders will receive a chance to participate in it.
