Several dozens of quarantine opponents who staged a rally were detained in the Hague

In the Netherlands, the police detained several dozen participants in the protest in The Hague, opposing quarantine measures. OE, as RIA Novosti reports, reported by NL Times with reference to the police. About two hundred cars took part in the demonstration, several hundred people walked on foot.

Protesters demanded to weaken restrictive measures, leaving observation only of people from risk groups - elderly and patients with chronic diseases. The detainees were taken to the police station, a police representative told the publication.

"The mayor has just ordered to stop demonstrations against quarantine measures, since the instructions were not observed," representatives of the city authorities on social networks said.

The mayor of the Hague allowed a similar action, provided that a distance of 1.5 meters between the participants is observed. The police began to disperse the crowds of protesters, when the number of people increased greatly and it became impossible to observe the rule of social distance.

On May 5, protests also took place in Dutch Utrecht. There were heard slogans against vaccination and 5G mobile communications.

According to the National Institute of Health of the Netherlands (RIVM), the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the country exceeded 41 thousand, 5,168 people died all the time.

On March 11, the World Health Organization announced the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection Covid-19 pandemia. According to the latest WHO data, more than 3.43 million cases of infection were recorded in the world, about 240 thousand people died.
