Doctors make up a list of memory of colleagues who are actually dead at work - there are already 100 names in the list. The Ministry of Health is silent

Two weeks ago, a “Memory List” appeared on the Internet, which included Russian and Belarusian doctors, nurses, orderlies and other health workers who died during the Pandemia of Coronavirus.

By May 5 , there are already more than 100 surnames in the list. Including an anesthetist-resuscitator Sergey Beloshitsky, who worked with patients infected with coronavirus and infected at work; radiologist Vladimir Fioshin from the Ulyanovsk region; Nurse Natalya Khechumova from Gatchina.

In St. Petersburg, opposite the building of the Health Committee, on April 28, a folk wall of memory appeared to doctors who died during the pandemic. At first there were nine names on it, later the list was replenished. There are photographs over some names, over others - images of angels, a symbol of disinterested service, purity and intercession. “This is not about politics. This is about the dead doctors. You can bring flowers here in memory of them, you can simply order flowers delivery, ”the author of the memorial Irina Maslova wrote on Facebook.

There are also doctors from other countries in the list of the dead: the manual therapist Zhang Junfen, who died in Rostov-on-Don, and dental technician Jean-Louis Kavawli, who worked in the European Medical Center. However, there are no information from the list of information on the Internet.

“We are simply sent to those who know about their colleagues, about their acquaintances. We do not process every surname purposefully, ”the cardiologist and one of the creators of the list Alexei Erlich told Novaya Gazeta.

He noted that this is an “unpleasant list of statistical data”. “You can lead a long time discussion about this: it is death from coronavirus or is it not death from coronavirus,” says Erlich. He characterizes the one who was included in the list as follows: "A person who died in connection with a coronavirus infection." Relatives or colleagues usually report the death of a health worker, more often the latter, the doctor notes.

“We ( doctors - ed. ) Earlier, before all pandemes, quite a few things decided on the principle of self -organization. This is the memory of people, because after all these are our colleagues, and I personally knew from this list of two people, ”said Alexei Kashcheev, a neurosurgeon. Professor Captains, for example. According to Kashcheev, the creation of such a list will help the families of deceased health workers receive payments from the state.

“It is important to emphasize the moment that not all of these people worked with coronavirus. They simply continued to work in a coronavirus. Doctors who work not in the covid system, but in these conditions, are subjected to not less, and often more risk. This is my personal opinion, but it seems to me that the state should consider some payments to their families, because these are people who, expressed in a military person, died in the performance of military duty, ”says Kashcheev.

On April 29, the chief freelance epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health mentioned the “Memory List” and then noted that it has more than 70 surnames. “In our country, many regions have now recorded multiple foci of coronavirus, primarily in medical organizations,” he said.

In some cases, the authorities really reported the death of doctors with Covid-19. So, for example, the City Health Committee of St. Petersburg spoke about the death of four nurses. At the same time, the authorities said that "they either had other serious illnesses that led to death, or they were not infected in the performance of labor duties."

Whether there is an official list of health workers who died from coronavirus - it is unclear. In the Ministry of Health, at the request of Novaya Gazeta with questions about whether the statistics of those infected with coronavirus and the dead health workers with Covid-19 were conducted.

Power structures, the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Ministry of Defense also hid data on the number of sick and dead for a long time, but under the pressure of public opinion they were forced to reveal them. So, today the Ministry of Health turned out to be the most secret department.

The list of dead health workers should be immediately published. The ministry must take responsibility for constant monitoring of the provisions of affairs in the regions.

The thing is obvious. But officials will have to explain.
This is necessary in order to pay compensation to families.
This is necessary so that some clerk does not try to steal this money or answer the relatives of the dead doctors: "We have not sent anyone there."
