The Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk Region commented on the complaint about the observatory for patients with coronavirus in the veterans' hospital. Authorities deny allegations of non-provision of medical assistance. They linked the appeal with a promise to "revenge and make a scandal."

“The information published on social networks that patients with coronavirus infection do not receive medical care is not true,” the Ministry of Health said on May 5. - In the branch of the hospital for war veterans No. 2 at Lesnoye Highway 9, there are patients with coronavirus infection who do not require specific treatment: those whose disease is asymptomatic. Also, patients from infectious diseases hospitals are transferred to the hospital after receiving the first negative test result for coronavirus. They are monitored by doctors, including daily thermometry. Three times a week, hospital patients are examined and consulted by infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists.”

For the sake of public safety, patients are only released after receiving two consecutive negative tests for coronavirus with a difference of a day.

“As long as there are enough places in the designated medical facilities in the region to isolate asymptomatic patients and patients with mild illness, the hospitalization procedure will not change,” the authorities stressed. “The Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk Region considers, in the context of containing the spread of coronavirus infection, outpatient monitoring of such patients is less safe than monitoring in a hospital.”

In case of exacerbation of chronic diseases, people in the observatory receive all the necessary treatment, the Ministry of Health noted. The hospital employs neurologists and therapists of the highest category; doctors of other specialties are invited for consultations.

“The patient who recorded the video message and her relatives for several days demanded to let the woman go home, despite the positive test results, or to allow family members into her ward. Having been refused, they promised to take revenge and make a scandal,” the ministry said.

Earlier, an ambulance worker who contracted coronavirus was placed in a special observation for asymptomatic patients at the Veterans Hospital No. 2. She, along with others, was taken to the regional hospital for veterans, which now includes those who are infected and those who have only the first test positive.
