The number of people infected with coronavirus in Russia per day again exceeded 10 thousand people. On May 5, authorities reported 10,102 new infections. This is slightly less than on previous days: on May 3, there were 10,633 cases, and on May 4, 10,581.

During the day, 95 people died, and for all the time in Russia there are already 1451 dead. Recovered - 1770 people, for all the time - 19 865 people.

More than half of the cases were again recorded in Moscow, 5714 against 5795 the day before. There are 822 cases in the Moscow region (19 more than yesterday), in St. Petersburg 226 (91 less), in the Nizhny Novgorod region - 174 (20 more), in the Murmansk region - 280 (153 less).

A sharp increase in the number of cases occurred in the Sverdlovsk region: yesterday there were 53 cases, today - 133.

In total, since the beginning of the epidemic, the number of people infected in Russia has exceeded 155 thousand. This is still the seventh result among the world, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The United States remains the leader in the number of cases, with more than 1.1 million infected.
