The People's Khural of the Republic of Buryatia refused to prematurely terminate the powers of two deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Viktor Malyshenko and Yegor Olzoev due to their participation in an uncoordinated protest. This was reported on the website of the regional parliament. The meeting was broadcast by the Babr24 portal.
The agenda included the issue of terminating Malyshenko's powers as chairman of the Committee on State Structure, Local Self-Government, Law and Public Service. Deputy Olzoev was proposed to deprive the deputy chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Nature Management and Ecology.
As Narodny Khural writes on its website, citing Vladimir Vedernikov, chairman of the Counting Commission, the decisions did not receive "the required number of votes."
31 deputies voted for the termination of Malyshenko's powers as chairman of the committee, 25 voted against, and three abstained. Olzoev also retained his position: 30 deputies voted for the termination of office, 27 voted against and two abstained. The quorum on these issues was 34 votes.
Babr24 reports that the head of the republic, Alexei Tsydenov, advocated the termination of the powers of deputy Viktor Malyshenko. “Viktor Malyshenko is the chairman of the committee on state organization and legality,” should be an example, and in the case of unauthorized rallies, there is no question of any legality,” Tsydenov said.
Malyshenko during the meeting called the attempt to deprive him of the powers of the chairman of the committee "an act of political reprisal against the communists."
The news was supplemented with information that the agenda included the issue of depriving deputies of their powers within the framework of the relevant committees of the People's Khural
