Investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have charged Vladimir Vorontsov, the administrator of the public page "Police Ombudsman", with extorting 300 thousand rubles from a police officer. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ report does not name the accused, although the Moscow agency clarifies that it is Vorontsov that is being discussed.
According to investigators, Vorontsov demanded money from a police officer to refuse to distribute personal photographs, which were eventually published. Investigators intend to file a motion to arrest Vorontsov in court.
On the morning of May 7, Vorontsov was searched. Before that, special forces descended from the roof on ropes into the windows of his apartment.
