Cinemas in China have been closed since late January due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Venues that decide to open should seat spectators at a safe distance, ventilate the premises as often as possible, and regularly clean and disinfect.

Spectators are required to wear protective masks.

The Chinese State Council's ruling does not specify the exact date from which cinemas will be able to operate again.

The Chinese State Council also called for a full reopening of other activities, including restaurants, supermarkets and shopping malls.
