880 residents of Yekaterinburg were fined for violating the self-isolation regime on Victory Day. This was announced on Instagram by the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev.

Answering a question from one of the readers, the governor said that the position of the authorities does not change: “It depends on self-isolation how soon we can start a phased exit from the restrictions.” And he talked about how to force citizens to comply with the established regimes.

“Fine? They're fined. Just yesterday and only in Yekaterinburg, police officers drew up 880 protocols. The other day I wrote about the forced hospitalization of irresponsible citizens, and about hundreds of fines - rather big ones, by the way - for ordinary people and legal entities. Punish everyone with a ruble? I'm afraid you and I will immediately receive no less emotional comments about a soulless regime that encroaches on civil liberties,” the head of the region wrote.

So far, 1,844 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the Sverdlovsk region. Two foci of infection are located in medical institutions: the Yekaterinburg Central City Hospital No. 1 and the Revda City Hospital, where a total of 124 people were infected. 350 Sverdlovsk residents recovered, three could not be saved.
