Since May 12 in St. Petersburg, it is necessary to put on protective masks and gloves when leaving the house. This is spelled out in amendments to the decision on measures against coronavirus. The document was signed by Governor Alexander Beglov on May 9.

Petersburgers will be obliged to use personal protective equipment for respiration and hands in all public places, including in stores and in transport, including taxi. Suitable protective equipment includes hygienic masks, respirators and “other replacing textile products”, as well as gloves.

Until May 11, inclusive, all these requirements are advisory in nature. The Committee on Legality and Law Order reported that from May 12, a fine of 4 thousand rubles under Article 8.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of St. Petersburg, adopted in April, would face a fine from May 12.
