The regime of "general self-isolation" was extended in the Irkutsk region. Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet announced the extension of the measures, which the authorities consider quarantine, after May 11.

“The self-isolation regime in the Irkutsk region has been extended until May 31,” the regional government said on May 11 without reference to any document.

There are 334 cases of coronavirus in the Angara region. 85 have recovered, six have died.

Previously, additional restrictions for residents were extended by several regions of Siberia, for example, the Omsk region .

On March 25, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on “non-working days”, which were supposed to end on April 4. On March 31, almost all regions of Russia introduced the regime of the so-called “general self-isolation”. Regional authorities introduced restrictions by their own regulations, but decisions were made after Putin's meeting with envoys in the federal districts. Citizens, depending on the wording, were “ordered”, “recommended” or otherwise asked to stay at home and not leave their homes unless absolutely necessary: ​​going to hospitals, shops and in order to throw out garbage, walking with pets within a certain radius of at home, as well as to work that is not restricted by presidential decree .

On April 2, Putin decided to extend the regime of "non-working days with pay" until April 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but shifted the decision to extend or end quarantine measures to the regions. In some regions, the regime has already been extended, in others, some companies are resuming their work. Later, the regime was extended until May 12.

The authorities did not introduce a state of emergency, which allows businesses and residents to suspend obligations due to force majeure. The state did not provide direct financial assistance to citizens who limited themselves to credit holidays, the possibility of interest-free loans to pay salaries, deferrals of fines and penalties for late payments for housing and communal services. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, for example, said : "The budgets will crack, they won't even be able to provide for the healthcare system, and so on."
