The administrator of the chat of Vadim Cheldiev's supporters was charged

Arsen Besolov, the administrator of the chat of Vadim Cheldiev’s supporters on Telegram, was charged as part of a criminal case. “Apology of Protest” writes about this.

Besolov was accused of organizing hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code with the use of Part 3 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code) at a public gathering in Vladikavkaz. According to investigators, Besolov “acted as part of a criminal group with Vadim Cheldiyev and Ramis Chirkinov” and published calls to protest in telegrams.

• On May 1, 2020, the court sentenced Besolov to administrative arrest for 15 days under the article on organizing mass simultaneous stay of citizens in public places that resulted in a violation of public order (Part 1 of Article 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code).
• Besolov was detained on April 29 in Moscow, after which he was transferred to Vladikavkaz, where he was interrogated at the local Investigative Committee. After the interrogation, FSB officers took Besolov to the Vladikavkaz Ministry of Internal Affairs.
• The chat, which was administered by Besolov, was attached to the channel of the previously arrested opera singer and COVID-dissident Vadim Cheldiev. Chat participants discussed a national gathering against the self-isolation regime. Ramis Chirkinov was also in the same chat, who was sent to a pre-trial detention center on May 6, 2020 under the same article as Besolova - organizing hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code with the application of Part 3 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code).
• Vadim Cheldiev is a COVID dissident who accused the North Ossetian authorities of lying in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. On April 24, he was charged under Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code (public dissemination of knowingly false information about circumstances posing a threat to the life and safety of citizens) and Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a government official). On April 21, Cheldiev was taken into custody for two months. Cheldiev, who had previously called on people to rally against the restrictive measures introduced due to the coronavirus. According to investigators, Cheldiyev hit the employee of Center “E” several times in the face, who escorted him after his arrest in St. Petersburg.
• On April 20, a public gathering against the self-isolation regime took place in the center of Vladikavkaz. About two thousand people took part in the action. The protesters were brutally dispersed by riot police, and as a result, 69 people were detained.
