The program was opened to search and create an illustrated children's non-fiction

AD Marginem Publishing House, ABCDESIGN design studio and publishing project “A+A” opened the ABCD Books program to search and create original and innovative illustrated children's Non-Fiction books.

“For several years, we have been looking for the best illustrated books around the world and translated them into Russian,” the organizers of the ABCD Books program report on its website . “Now we are ready to start publishing domestic illustrated non-fiction books and are looking for original projects.”

These are, first of all, art books for children, as well as popular science illustrated books or books about architecture and cities in one of three formats:

• a picture book (reader age from 4 to 8 years; 24 pp.);
• cognitive non-fiction book (reader age from 6 to 15 years; 64 or 96 pages);
• Graphic novel/Comics (reader age from 6 to 66 years; without restrictions).

“We are sure,” the organizers write, “that the author of the innovative concept of the book can be both an author or an artist, a writer, screenwriter, producer, art critic, curator of the educational program. And we will help to bring the idea to embodiment, we will come up with a visual, publishing and printing decision with you. We are ready to consider projects of both illustrators and authors capable of creating a substantive plot, which will become the basis for joint finalization with the artist. ”

Search for concepts is carried out in several stages. Acceptance of applications for participation in the ABCD Books program will last until August 1 , applications are accepted at NewBooks@admarginem.ru .

The best projects selected by experts will be presented on September 2–6 at the new Moscow International Children's Book Fair ( New Micbf ) , a special project of the Bologna Book Fair in the framework of MMKVVI at VDNH.

In the spring of 2021, the publication of the book and its presentation at the Bologna children's book fair are planned. According to the results of the second stage, the authors of the best project will receive 100 thousand rubles to create a book, its publication and a trip to the fair in Bologna.
