Human rights activists predicted a sharp increase in the number of appeals from the pre-trial detention center and IVS after the end of isolation, the Vice President of the Russian division of the International Committee for Protection of Human Rights Protection, Ivan Melnikov, reported to the MBH Media.

“I predict that in the near future the number of appeals will increase. This will happen as soon as it removes the insulation mode. After that, a huge number of people will want to contact the PMC, ”Melnikov said.

“Therefore, around those who are now in jail and IVS, an information vacuum is formed. That is, not everyone has the opportunity to file complaints of violation of their rights, if this is available, ”the human rights activist explained.

He emphasized that he considers it wrong that in connection with Pandemia, the members of the PMC is not allowed to the arrested and prisoners. “There are special costumes, protective equipment and other ways to prevent the virus from spreading to the virus,” Melnikov added.
