The Ministry of Education will postpone the date of the Unified State Examination

The dates for the Unified State Exam in 2020 will be postponed from June 8, reported the Ministry of Education . New dates are not yet known.

The USE will be taken by schoolchildren who are going to enter universities, and the exam will be limited to two subjects necessary for this. As reported in Rosobrnadzor, the exam may be scheduled for the second half of July.

For ninth-graders, compulsory exams in the Russian language and mathematics will be canceled. Final grades will be given to students on the basis of annual grades.

The decision to postpone was made on the recommendation of the health authorities in connection with the spread of the coronavirus, said Deputy Minister of Education Viktor Basyuk. This is necessary to protect the health of children and teachers.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science reported that it considers it appropriate to conduct a remote USE "provided that all students are provided with the necessary technical means."
