"The prospects of such regimes are usually extremely vague. Demiurge’s departure often leads to a crash. But even if there is no crash, it is always an instability point in any case.

As the main options for the further development of events in Putin Russia are usually called two: Putin remains for another 12 years or he nominates a successor in 2024. By default, it is assumed that if he can choose, then the principles of functioning of the regime will remain the same.

In fact, there is a third way - a transition to a collective rule. For all the complexity of this option, it is still possible. The USSR after Stalin, China after Mao, Mexico after Porfirio Diaz - all these regimes managed to institutionalize and turn from super -personalist into single party. In the latter case, however, I had to go through the civil war, but this does not change the essence of the matter. "
