A court in the Chelyabinsk region dismissed the case due to a post with a quote from the head of the district about coronavirus

Inna Yudina, justice of the peace of court district No. 1 of the Kusinsky district of the Chelyabinsk region, dismissed the case under the article on the dissemination of deliberately false socially significant information under the guise of reliable information in networks (part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against activist Eduard Migranov because of a post on VKontakte. This is reported by Mediazona with reference to Migranov himself.

On April 8, the head of the Kusinsky district, Yuri Lysyakov , wrote on VKontakte that there were no cases of coronavirus in the district, and no diseases were detected throughout the Chelyabinsk region during the day, but urged people to take precautions. The next day, Migranov quoted the publication and added on his own behalf that “you can safely walk around the city and visit shops” (the post has now been deleted). A week later, the police came to the activist's house with a check.

The district administration considered that Migranov “attributed his thoughts” and one might get the impression that “walking around the city” was the proposal of the head of the district. The court did not agree with this position and dismissed the case due to the absence of an administrative offense.
