The regional court softened the sentence to the ex-deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council convicted of fraud

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Court in the appeal instance decided on the case of the ex-deputy Arkady Volkov, who was previously sentenced to seven years in prison in a maximum security colony. He was reduced by six months.

Arkady Volkov was convicted by the Railway District Court of Krasnoyarsk to seven years in a strict regime colony under paragraph “c” of part 5 of Art. 290 (receiving a large -scale bribe) and h 3. Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a person using his official position, as well as on a large scale).

“The Krasnoyarsk Regional Court softened the punishment to Volkov for each crime for 2 months and, as a result, for 6 months for actively contributing to the disclosure of crimes and for the appearance with a confession. As a result, Arkady Volkov was imposed on a new punishment - in the form of imprisonment for a period of 6 years 6 months, with serving a maximum security penal colony, ”the court said.

Arkady Volkov previously called himself the first political prisoner of modern Russia. In the last word, he emphasized that he did not take a single penny from those people he helped.

In 2016-2017, Arkady Volkov, who headed the Commission of the City Council on the housing and communal services, organized the project - “Good deed machine”. He helped poor citizens in solving household problems - he repaired plumbing and electrical appliances.

According to investigators, the deputy went to and. O. The General Director of KrastEK LLC (among the owners of the company's namesake of the son of the State Duma and the former mayor of Krasnoyarsk Andrei Pimashkov) with a proposal to employ three persons, promising the general patronage of the company's activities, and in case of refusal of this proposal, to organize obstacles to the organization.

The investigation also claimed that Volkov asked the director of one of the management companies to provide him for the “good deed machine” for the two employees on the condition that their work would pay for the company. And the deputy was accused of fictitious employment of his relative in another commercial organization in exchange for "patronage".
