Moscow authorities issued fines for 216 million rubles using the Social Monitoring application

In Moscow, users of the Social Monitoring application were issued 54 thousand fines totaling more than 216 million rubles, reported , citing the head of the Main Control Directorate, Evgeny Danchikov. Vedomosti

In total, more than 60 thousand users are registered in the application, noted the head of the Moscow information technology department, Eduard Lysenko.

According to Danchikov, 30% of app users issued fines, some received them two or three times.

The Moscow City Hall released the Social Monitoring application at the end of March. It tracks the geoposition of patients with coronavirus or ARVI who are being treated at home, as well as those who have been in contact with patients. Several times a day, the application asks the user to send a selfie from home.

Muscovites who installed the application complain about errors in assigning fines under Article 3.18.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of legal acts of Moscow aimed at ensuring a high-alert regime) and that they can only register after the “seventh or eighth” time.
