Yaroslavets sued the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 5 thousand rubles for last year’s detention with posters in support of Ukraine

The Dzerzhinsky District Court of Yaroslavl awarded compensation of 5,000 rubles to activist Mikhail Malinin for illegal detention at an event in honor of the fifth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea last year. This is reported by the publication "MBH media" with reference to Malinin.

Activist Mikhail Malinin demanded compensation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs separately for each illegal action: delivery to the department, administrative detention, search of personal belongings, taking fingerprints, a saliva sample and the lack of a response to an official request for these actions, the 7×7 publication . reports The total amount of claims stated in the lawsuit amounted to 76 thousand rubles. The court allowed the claim in part.

“My goal was to achieve justice, I hate persecution for words, slogans and inscriptions. <…> The main thing is that illegal detentions should not be repeated again,” Malinin told MBKh Media.

• Mikhail Malinin was detained on March 17, 2019 on Sovetskaya Square in Yaroslavl during the Crimean Spring festival. He stood with posters, one of which read “Enough propaganda lies against Ukraine” in Russian, Ukrainian and English, the other read “Treaty on the Russian-Ukrainian state border was ratified in 2004. He who broke his word once, will never be faithful”, on the third - “Karachevsky and Kokorin are Ukrainian servicemen killed by Russian soldiers during the seizure of Crimea”.
• Within a few minutes, Malinin was detained, things were examined at the police department, fingerprinted and saliva samples were taken, and posters were seized, in which they saw signs of extremism.
• On October 4, 2019, the Kirovsky District Court declared Malinin's detention unlawful and ordered the destruction of the seized biological materials.
