Representatives of the Left Front were detained in Moscow because of an interview near the Russian government building
In Moscow, police officers detained Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the Left Front, because of an interview near the building of the Russian government. Udaltsov himself informed OVD-Info about this by calling the hotline.
According to Udaltsov, a police bus drove up to him a few minutes after the interview began. Law enforcement officers explained the detention by the fact that Udaltsov allegedly violated the regime of self-isolation. At the same time, as the detainee said, he issued a pass “for a business meeting” especially for this interview.
It is not known whether the police plan to charge the detainee with any offense. Now law enforcement officers, as Udaltsov said, have only drawn up a protocol of delivery to the police department.
16:05 Udaltsov was released from the police department with a protocol under the article on violation of the rules of conduct during high alert mode (Article 3.18.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the city of Moscow). Udaltsov himself told OVD-Info about this.
According to him, later the police also brought representatives of the Left Front, Yevgeny Efremov and Tatyana Fomina, to the police department. They, as Udaltsov said, also helped him shoot material for interviews. The police drew up reports on them under the same article of the Moscow Code of Administrative Offenses, after which they released them.

- This is not the first time Sergei Udaltsov has faced politically motivated persecution. So, in March 2020 alone, he was detained twice because of a meeting with citizens to discuss amendments to the Constitution, and in May 2019 he was detained along with Vladimir Skubak, a Russian army officer who went on a hunger strike.
- In July 2014, as part of the Bolotnaya case, the Moscow City Court sentenced Sergei Udaltsov and Leonid Razvozzhaev to four years and six months in a penal colony. They were accused of organizing mass riots on May 6, 2012 on Bolotnaya Square, of preparing to organize mass riots in different cities of the country, as well as of illegally crossing the border. The ECHR has already ordered Russia to pay Udaltsov 9,000 euros for violations of his rights in connection with the criminal prosecution.
