According to the Vinzavoda press service, this year more than a hundred applications were received for participation in the Open Studios project, of which the expert council, which included Antonio Juza, Anastasia Karneeva, Alexei Novoselov, Nikolai Palazhchenko, Sofya Trotsenko, Margarita Pushkin and Andrei Parshikov, chose nine: seven participants in the workshop and two participants of the workshop program. "POP-up."
Five young artists were offered to participate in the new experimental program “Open Studios+”. Its participants will be able to attend lectures, conduct master classes, participate in special events and vernissages and create work conceived as part of the project, in the workshop.
““ This year on Open Call we have received a lot of good applications. But since the number of places in the program is limited, not all artists were able to enter the main composition of "open studios". And we decided in an experimental format to try the project to expand and enable the most authors to become part of it. As a result, 14 artists received a place in the project. Under the current conditions, this, of course, is a certain challenge, but we hope that he will fully justify himself, and soon we will see the results of this great work, ”Sofya Trotsenko, founder of the Winzavod CSI, told about the concept of the fifth season.
The opening of the season will take place on June 9 in an online format with a direct broadcast on the resources of Vincavod and a tour of the tutor of Open Studios Andrei Parshikov.
Since 2017, a project for supporting young artists “Open Studios” has been uniting a workshop for Russian artists, a residence for foreign artists and an art school based on the former premises of the Aidan gallery on the territory of Vinzavod.
In 2019, the project consisted of two programs: “Workshop”, designed for painters and sculptors who need work space, and “pop-up”-for artists working with video, performance and installation. An important component of all project programs, including “Open Studios+”, is an educational direction, as well as the ability to work with the tutor, obtaining personal professional consultations, participation in collective projects, Artist Talk and master classes.
