In early May, the LenExpo exhibition complex on the Vasilievsky Island deployed a hospital into a thousand beds. Patients with a slight form of coronavirus or suspicion of infection are brought there.
Almost immediately after the opening of the temporary hospital, patients began to complain about the lack of drugs and hygiene drugs, ventilation, heating, as well as insufficient attention of doctors. LenExpo was checked by the prosecutor’s office and the governor inspected, but there were no serious violations there.
" Paper" tells and shows what the hospital looks like, on the re -equipment of which more than 400 million rubles were spent.

The LenExpo exhibition complex began to be converted to the hospital on April 18, and on May 3 the first patients were already accepted there .
416 million rubles were allocated for work - they were taken from the reserve fund of the city government. About half of the amount took to the purchase of medical equipment - from ultrasound and IVL devices to computer tomographs.
The construction of Lazakhstroy was engaged in construction, with which they entered into a contract without a competition.
It was assumed that only patients with a mild coronavirus form will lie in the hospital who cannot observe the self-isolation regime-for example, because of elderly relatives, young children or communal apartment neighbors.
As a result, LenExpo is also brought to patients with an unconfirmed diagnosis. The authorities explain this by the fact that all patients with pneumonia are considered as covid-positive.
Patients reported that people from neuropsychiatric boarding schools are in LenExpo. In an interview with “Paper” , Anastasia Mayorova, who spent three days in the hospital, also told about this in an interview with “Paper” .
Information about patients from PNI to LenExpo is confirmed by the doctor Dmitry Babichev, working there. According to him, a special zone was allocated for them, although they are "not noisy and not violent."
The healthcare committee is denied that people with psychiatric diagnoses are in the hospital.

A multidisciplinary brigade: cardiologists, neurologists, therapists and other specialists operate in the LenExpo hospital. The hospital is under the jurisdiction of the hospital for war veterans, but doctors also work from other institutions.
Patients are unhappy that they have no attending doctors who would follow the course of their illness. They report that health workers pay little attention to them, and the prescribed medicines have to be demanded.
Now in LenExpo there are about 500 patients. According to the medical staff, eleven to twelve doctors enter the day shift , four in the evening and night. That is, during the day there are 50 patients per doctor.
The nurse is also not enough: according to the anonymous statement of one of them, for shift, she and her colleague had to make “150 in four hands”.

Petersburzhenka Natalya Korepanova said that she was prescribed an antibiotic who was not in the hospital. “Well, there is no antibiotic, my good, I can’t do anything,” the girl quotes the phrase of the medic.
To achieve treatment, Natalya gave interviews to reporters and wrote about the situation in social networks. Now she is located in a hospital for war veterans-she was transferred due to a deterioration in well-being.

Patients complain about the conditions in LenExpo almost from the opening of the hospital. So, the Petersburger lying there Oksana Kutafina-Shchelova wrote that the impromptu chambers the size of the fitting rooms were only without a curtain.
The girl turned to Alexander Beglov on his official page on VKontakte, but she was blocked, supposedly for the mat.
Patients interviewed by “paper” also talk about the lack of personal space: between the male and female parts of the hospital, free passage, the partitions are short, the nightstands are common. The distance between neighboring beds, according to patients, is about 30 centimeters.
Patients reported that LenExpo did not have enough soap and toilet paper, and a large puddle blocks the path to the shower-it was formed allegedly due to problems with the drain. Castles are broken in the toilet booths.
The first days, patients could not receive hygiene funds from home - until May 13, programs were prohibited in the hospital .
Now they were allowed, but strict restrictions were imposed on the parcels . Bags weighing no more than 5 kilograms can be transferred only from 13:00 to 16:00, sausage, cookies with cream, dumplings and many other products cannot be transferred to the hospital.
At the beginning of the hospital, patients also reported a lack of drinking water. Then the leadership reported on the established boilers, and the number of complaints was reduced.
But there are no problems with food in LenExpo, patients say. Here is an example of the menu: creamy soup with fish, pasta with a steamed cutlet, potato casserole with meat, yogurt. True, sometimes food is brought with a delay.

Hospitalized also report that upon receipt they sign a document that they are forbidden to take photos and videos in the hospital.
At the building, surrounded by barbed wire, employees of the Russian Guard, police and private enterprise are on duty. An employee of LenExpo clarified that security is needed to stop possible conflicts between patients and prevent the shoots of infected people.
Another frequent claim of patients is a long expectation of the test results to coronavirus, without which they cannot be discharged.
For example, Elmira Abdulkadyova came to St. Petersburg from Dagestan for chemotherapy and radio exploration courses. According to her, due to quarantine in the Petrov clinic, the treatment was stopped on April 23, on May 4, she, along with other oncopacients, was at LenExpo. She waited for the test results for two weeks - until May 18, and then received two negative ones at once. Now the woman has been discharged.
In mid -May, Alexander Beglov said that the tests of LenExpo patients will be carried out by a separate laboratory - the Pasteur Research Institute. This should accelerate the process.

Due to complaints to the hospital, prosecutors came, but did not find violations.
The hospital was also visited by Alexander Beglov. As “paper” was reported by several patients, they were not warned about the arrival of the governor, and it was difficult to recognize him in a protective suit.
Patients suggest that on the set in the hospital he talked with fake patients, but there is no evidence of this.

Patients, citing health workers, say that there is supposedly an order from the authorities - as soon as possible to fill out the hospital in LenExpo. But there is no confirmation of this information.
The authorities of St. Petersburg claim that the hospital meets the minimum requirements, and intend to expand it. On May 18, almost 500 new beds were installed in pavilions No. 8 and 8a.
