The flash mob "What kind of sofa are you" has already reached even Ivan Urgant . But what do furniture stores think about it? In short, they do not understand what is happening at all!
Marketer Evgeny Kostin posted on his Facebook page screenshots with complaints from one of his clients. The client who placed contextual advertising for sofas asked Kostin to deal with the “inadequacy of clicks” and “debiting money from the account” (after all, every click is paid!). The number of views in the category of sofas has clearly increased. It's just that they didn't buy anything. “This cannot be, there are no orders for any of these sofas,” the advertiser writes.
Kostin attached a screenshot of the table with the number of clicks on various sofas to the post. As it turned out, "Olga", "Marina" and "Julia" gained particular popularity - all products with human names. That is, what got out in Google thanks to the flash mob.
As Kostin explained in the comments under his post, because of the “What kind of sofa are you” test, his client spent $ 172.83 for 663 clicks to Olga, Marina and Yulia. The money must be returned to the advertiser.
Now we are waiting for the report of marketers responsible for advertising stores and salads .
