An Airbus A320 passenger plane of the national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has crashed in Pakistan, reported . local media
The aircraft was operating a domestic flight PK8303 from Lahore to the country's largest city, Karachi. The crash occurred in the development of the prestigious suburb of Model Colony near Karachi Airport.
According to PIA, there were 107 people on board - 99 passengers and 8 crew members. This is just over half of the full load of A320s operated by the company. No casualties on the ground are yet known.
Pakistan restored flights interrupted by the coronavirus just a week ago. The crash happened on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
