The Investigative Committee opened two more criminal cases due to the “Immortal Regiment - Online” campaign

The Investigative Committee opened criminal cases against Daniil Shestakov, a resident of Perm, and Mohammed El-Ayubi, a resident of Kazan, under the article on justifying Nazism (Part 1, Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). It is reported by RIA Novosti

According to the investigation, “in order to approve the crimes determined by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg,” the suspects posted photographs of Adolf Hitler and General Vlasov on the website of the Immortal Regiment.

The department emphasized that Shestakov was an active participant in the protests and was brought to administrative responsibility for this.

• On May 15, criminal cases on the rehabilitation of Nazism in connection with publications on the Immortal Regiment website were opened against Daniil Simanov from Perm, Andrei Shabanov from Samara, Denis Vorontsov from Volgograd and Vyacheslav Kruglov from Ulyanovsk.
• On May 12, the organizers of the Immortal Regiment movement promised to hand over to the investigators the IP addresses of users who sent photographs of Wehrmacht officers to participate in the action.
• The Immortal Regiment is a movement that has been holding actions in honor of May 9 since 2012. Traditionally - processions with portraits of participants in the Great Patriotic War. In 2020, due to the coronavirus, the event was held online. Unknown people tried to publish questionnaires with photos of Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler on the website of the Immortal Regiment and another project, the Memory Bank.
