Gogol-Center raised 1.5 million rubles for hospitals helping patients with coronavirus

The Moscow Theater "Gogol-Center" directed to support the doctors fighting with the coronavirus more than 1.5 million rubles, collected as part of the #helps . Information about this appeared on the social networks of the theater.

Initially, the action was launched by the BDT named after G. A. Tovstonogov and the magazine "Theater". On May 20, Gogol-Center supported it and, together with the Living Foundation, announced the fundraising to help doctors fighting Covid-19. For four days, the artists and friends of the theater read documentary monologues of doctors collected by journalist Katerina Gordeeva, and the audience listed donations to the Living Foundation.

“This year we all first encountered a huge disaster, and it became clear that it would be difficult for everyone. We - artists, theater workers - did not immediately understand how we can be useful to people who fight the virus from morning to night. And then the idea arose: you can become a voice of doctors, a voice that is not heard, because the doctors are busy from morning to night, they are in the red zone, ”commented the theater head of Kirill Serebrennikov.

The collected money will be sent to the Nizhny Novgorod City Clinical Hospital No. 5, the X-ray of the Central District Hospital of the city of Balakhna (Nizhny Novgorod Region) and the Orenburg Regional Clinical Infectious Defense Hospital. The Gogol-Center received applications from these medical facilities from the Living Foundation.
