The Moscow City Court upheld the decision to place in custody the creator of the “Police Ombudsman” public page, Vladimir Vorontsov. His lawyer Sergei Badamshin reported this on his Telegram channel.

In early May, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Vorontsov for two months, until July 6, 2020.

On May 7, Vladimir Vorontsovwas charged with extortion on a large scale committed by a group of persons (clauses “a” and “d”, part 2 of article 163 of the Criminal Code), and the next day he was arrested . According to investigators, Vorontsov demanded 300 thousand rubles from a police officer for not distributing intimate photographs, which then ended up in the public domain. Two weeks after his arrest, another criminal case was opened against him - under the article on illegal trafficking and production of pornographic materials by a group of persons (Part 3 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code). As part of this case, they conducted a search and also placed another public administrator, Igor Khudyakov, under arrest .
“Police Ombudsman” was originally a VKontakte group created by Vladimir Vorontsov when he worked in the police and Center “E”, then pages appeared on other social networks.
