The sale of the newspaper became known at the end of March. Vedomosti has replaced its editor-in-chief, Andrey Shmarov. After his appointment, he rewrote the title of the article about Rosneft to the opposite, removed from the site a column about the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, and tried to remove news about the low ratings of President Vladimir Putin. Due to a conflict between the editors and Shmarov, businessman Alexey Golubovich refused to buy the newspaper.

Ivan Eremin is the founder of the news portal Uralpolit.ru. He launched the publication together with his ex-wife Aksana Panova, who later created Ura.ru and Znak.com. In 2007, Eremin founded the media holding of the same name on the basis of the Federalpress news agency.
