Police officers have begun detaining participants in single-person pickets against police violence taking place near the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building on Petrovka, OVD-Info reports.
Among those detained are also those who went out to picket in support of the arrested journalist Ilya Azar.
The protest against police violence was held after the Russian National Guard special forces shot and killed a 27-year-old man suspected of stealing four rolls of wallpaper in Yekaterinburg on May 31.
As eyewitnesses told Meduza, pickets against police abuse are also taking place in Yekaterinburg.
