The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation began to test the vaccine from Covid-19 in humans

The Russian Ministry of Defense selected 50 volunteers from among the military personnel for the clinical test of the vaccine from the Covid-19. This was reported by Russian news agencies with reference to the statement of the military department. We are talking about a vaccine developed with the participation of the 48th Central Research Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The first group of volunteers will arrive at the Institute on June 3.

The fact that the Russian Ministry of Defense is involved in the development of a vaccine from coronavirus became known in early April. The preclinical studies of the alleged vaccine were supposed to end by June 1, such terms were called the Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu at a meeting with the president. The works are carried out in conjunction with the National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology (NICEM) named after N.F. Gamalei of the Ministry of Health of Russia. It is planned to complete the clinical trials of the vaccine before the end of July.

On May 22, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Ginzburg, said that the center’s employees checked the potential vaccine from the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus. None of them had side effects, "everyone is alive, healthy and rejoiced," said Ginzburg. Efficiency data is not given. The academician did not report the exact figure of the testers. We are talking about a vector vaccine based on adenovirus DNA, into which the gene of the new coronavirus is built in.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova reported that Russian experts are simultaneously developing 47 vaccines from Covid-19, and the director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei predicted that mass vaccination from the Covid-19 can start in the fall of 2020.

Last week, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the sanitary restrictions introduced to combat the spread of coronavirus infection will not be completely removed until the vaccine protecting from the disease.
