The Luga City Court of the Leningrad Region ordered the Ministry of Defense to pay 4 million rubles of compensation for non -pecuniary damage to the mother of the conscript Andrei Wittich, who died on exercises under tank shelling. The lawyer Dmitry Gerasimov, who collaborates with the “Law Zone”, told Mediazone about this.
Wittich’s mother asked to pay 5 million rubles.

The 20-year-old SRO died in September 2017 at the Vesto-2017 exercises. He died on the spot from the loss of blood, four more soldiers who fell under tank shelling through the fault of the commanders received severe injuries: penetrating wounds, fractures, gaps of limbs, massive blood loss, and severe traumatic shock.
In February 2019, the court appointed Lieutenant Colonel Denis Gorevshev and the head of the training ground to Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Krivoshein, three years conditionally in the case of negligence (part 293 of the Criminal Code). They were also obliged to pay the victims 10 thousand rubles.
After that, three former soldiers sued 6 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense.
