The BBC Russian Service has corrected on its website the April material that the alleged eldest daughter of Vladimir Putin, Maria Vorontsova, and the Rosneft company will be engaged in the creation of a center for genetic research.
From the new version of the material, posted under the heading “Rosneft has become a partner in a major Russian genetic project”, the mention that Igor Sechin and Maria Vorontsova will be members of the supervisory board of the new center and that Rosneft will invest in the project from 500 million to a billion dollars.
The BBC commentary notes that the information was removed from the article "based on clarifications from Rosneft" received after it was published. "The inclusion of this information did not meet the standards required for publication," the explanation notes.
The names of the journalists who worked on it were also removed from the material.
